Moe, raised in a strict, traditional environment, finds her life irrevocably altered by a Neuro Sarcoma diagnosis. Beneath a calm exterior, a deep-seated fear of death begins to consume her. In the hospital, she encounters Way, a free-spirited rebel with a hidden heart condition. Determined to meet her end anonymously, Way has built emotional walls to protect herself.
Drawn together by their shared fragility, the two women form an unlikely bond. While Moe is consumed by the specter of death, Way teaches her to appreciate life’s simple joys. As their friendship deepens, Moe uncovers Way's hidden vulnerabilities and traumas.
Together, they embark on a quest to witness the legendary "sea of clouds," a symbolic journey towards acceptance. Their shared experience forces them to confront the inevitability of death. As they navigate the complexities of their relationship and their terminal illnesses, they come to understand that death is not the opposite of life, but an integral part of it.
“This is my second feature film. I was scared that my second film wouldn't reach the benchmark my first film made. But when I started writing the script, I forgot all about it. The story and characters came to me quite naturally. When I finished the script, I was happy. Either it would meet the audience’s expectation or not, I didn't care anymore. Because I like it.
It's about two terminally ill patients who meet at a hospital. I was trying to approach death. But the characters made it all about life. Being alive. After all, death is a part of life.”
